Job Title: Soldering Lab Technician
Location: North Reading, MA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months (Contract-to-Perm)
Pay range: $43 to $52/hour on W2

Job Description:
  • We are seeking a hands-on Soldering Lab Technician to support our engineering lab operations.
  • Perform precision soldering and rework on PCBs, electronic assemblies, and components according to IPC standards.
  • Operate lab equipment such as microscopes, soldering stations, and reflow tools.
  • You’ll play a key role in building, maintaining, and validating hardware systems used in product development and testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including rework and testing records

Responsibilities:
  • Perform soldering, component replacement, and wiring tasks
  • Build custom cables and coordinate with machine shop for part modifications
  • Manage testbed setup and upkeep
  • Coordinate equipment calibration (with centralized calibration team)
  • Handle equipment rentals, tracking, shipping, and returns
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and organization
  • Relocate and set up lab equipment as needed
  • Configure lab networking and testbenches
  • Collaborating with facilities for power, water, and network drops
  • Support infrastructure integration for new systems
  • Execute light validation tasks using scopes and meters
  • Follow test templates and procedures accurately
  • Additional validation experience is a strong plus
Must Have:
  • Proficiency in soldering and PCBA rework
  • Solid understanding of electronics and circuit fundamentals
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (but not required with relevant experience)
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
