    Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Soldering Technician to perform high-quality soldering and rework on electronic assemblies. This is a higher-level role requiring strong hands-on experience with both surface mount and through-hole soldering.

The ideal candidate will have several years of electronics assembly or soldering experience and be comfortable working with small components, circuit boards, inspection standards, and detailed production documentation. This role requires excellent attention to detail, steady hands, and the ability to produce clean, reliable solder joints in a quality-focused environment.

    Responsibilities

Perform surface mount and through-hole soldering on printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies.

Solder, remove, replace, and rework components according to work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.

Work with small components, fine-pitch parts, wires, connectors, and electronic hardware.

Inspect solder joints and finished assemblies for quality, accuracy, and workmanship.

Perform touch-up, repair, and rework on PCB assemblies as needed.

Use soldering irons, hot air tools, microscopes, hand tools, and other electronics assembly equipment.

Read and follow assembly drawings, schematics, work instructions, BOMs, travelers, and inspection criteria.

Identify soldering defects such as bridging, cold solder joints, insufficient solder, lifted pads, damaged components, or incorrect polarity.

Follow ESD procedures and maintain a clean, organized workstation.

Work closely with quality, production, and engineering teams to resolve assembly or rework issues.

    Qualifications

Several years of hands-on soldering experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or a similar environment.

Strong experience with both surface mount and through-hole soldering.

Ability to work under a microscope or magnification with small electronic components.

Experience with rework, repair, touch-up, and component replacement.

Ability to read production documentation, assembly drawings, and basic electronic instructions.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

    Knowledge of ESD procedures.

IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or IPC-7711/7721 experience or certification is strongly preferred.

Experience in aerospace, defense, medical device, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing is a plus.
