Job Description: - Solid Surface FabricatorFull-time position, Monday – Friday 5:00 am – 1:30 pm with overtime as needed, $25.00-$29.00 based on experience.
We are looking to add an experienced Solid Surface Fabricator to the JK Concepts team. This team produces high volume solid surface and laminate countertops, as well as custom made pieces like reception desks and closets. Primary Responsibilities:
- Manufacture custom solid surface and laminate countertops and reception areas.
- Read and interpret blueprints to produce products within tolerance and specifications.
- Operate various power equipment, hand tools and various sizes to process solid surface materials.
- Familiar with fabrication of plastic laminate products, Corian and finishing techniques.
- Operate specialized manufacturing and fabrication tools and machinery
- Load and adjust workpieces onto equipment or worktables.
- Grind, sand, clean and/or polish surfaces to standard finish or as specified using hand tools and power tools, and/or correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing.
- Use of adhesive and clamps.
- Select adhesives, abrasives, polishes, caulks, etc. when required, according to finishes specified and steps in finishing processes.
- Transfer finished products to work area and/or staging areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure safe working conditions.
Skills and Abilities:
- Self-starter with the ability to communicate effectively, display a positive respectful attitude.
- Critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills.
- Ability to operate woodworking equipment correctly, efficiently, and safely, power tools and hand tools.
- Competent in woodworking construction techniques, AWI standards, material characteristics and fabrication strategies.
- Ability to work under conditions with changing priorities, short deadlines and multiple work assignments.
Education and Experience:
3+ years of prior experience in sold surface
Requirements:
- Flexible skill set for custom projects
- Familiar with fabrication of Corian and finishing techniques.
- Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality
- Takes initiative and passionate about their work
- Follow all company policies and procedures
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb stoop, kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must be able to frequently life and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
