Summary
Solid Waste Equipment Operator I - Under limited supervision, operates sanitation vehicle to collect residential and commercial refuse or bulk waste on designated routes and assists in completion of all routes; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Solid Waste Equipment Operator II - Under limited supervision, operates sanitation vehicle to collect residential and commercial refuse or bulk waste on designated routes and assists in completion of all routes; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Solid Waste Equipment Operator III - Under limited supervision, operates sanitation vehicle to collect residential and commercial refuse or bulk waste on designated routes and assists in completion of all routes; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Salary
Solid Waste Equipment Operator I - pay grade 48
$22.61 hourly
Solid Waste Equipment Operator II - pay grade 50
$23.75 hourly
Solid Waste Equipment Operator III - pay grade 52
$24.96 hourly

Qualifications
Solid Waste Equipment Operator I - Tenth (10) grade education and one (1) year of related work experience in any one (1) of the three (3) sanitation work groups: residential, commercial, or bulk waste, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid State of Florida Commercial driver's license, Class B is required.
Solid Waste Equipment Operator II - Tenth (10) grade educationand eighteen (18) months of related work experience in any two (2) of the three (3) sanitation work groups: residential, commercial or bulk waste, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid State of Florida Commercial driver's license, Class B is required.
Solid Waste Equipment Operator III - Tenth (10) grade educationand two (2) years of related work experience in any three (3) of the three (3) sanitation work groups: residential, commercial or bulk waste, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid State of Florida Commercial driver's license, Class B is required.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
To be considered valid (or verified) for position qualification purposes, and consistent with City Hiring Policy 4-5, a High School, GED or equivalent diploma, and all higher education degrees or certifications must have been issued by
a) a public education institution in the State of Florida or any State or Territory of the United States; or
b) an institution accredited by an accrediting organization that is recognized by the Florida Department of Education or the U.S. Department of Education; or
c) an institution that is accredited by an organization that is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); or
d) an institution whose degree or certification is accepted by institutions identified in either a), b), or c), above, for the purpose of admission to institutions identified in either a), b), or c) above.
International degrees will be evaluated to determine if they satisfy qualification requirements.
