SolidWorks Drafter job in Canton, OH:
Direct Hire Salary Range: $60-75,000 based on experience

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Drafter with strong 3D modeling and reverse engineering experience to support the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks and capable of creating accurate manufacturing drawings and 3D models from existing parts, samples, sketches, or field measurements.

Key Responsibilities of the SolidWorks Drafter job in Canton, OH:

• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks.
• Reverse engineer mechanical components and assemblies from physical parts, scans, measurements, and legacy drawings.
• Develop production-ready drawings including dimensions, tolerances, BOMs, and assembly instructions.
• Modify and improve existing designs to enhance manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, machining, and production teams to ensure design accuracy and functionality.
• Maintain organized CAD files, revision control, and technical documentation.
• Assist with prototyping, fit-up verification, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and fabricated components.
• Interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and engineering standards.
• Support shop floor and field personnel with drafting-related technical assistance.

• Experience as an Industrial Draftsman, Mechanical Designer, CAD Technician, or similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drafting.
• Strong reverse engineering skills using precision measuring tools and/or 3D scan data.
• Knowledge of mechanical design principles, fabrication methods, machining, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to create accurate detailed drawings with GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and file/document management systems..

• Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal, welding, or industrial equipment design.
