First Seat Driver – OTR

Position Details

We are hiring First Seat OTR Drivers based out of Ellenwood, GA. Drivers will operate throughout the 48 states, with the majority of freight running east of I-35.

• 100% no-touch freight
• 50–60% drop & hook
• 40–50% live unload
• Average 2,000 miles per week
• Top 30% of drivers run 2,300–3,000+ miles per week
• Average length of haul: 400 miles
• No forced NYC dispatch. Drivers are never required to deliver into New York City or the five boroughs.
• Flexible home time based on driver needs
• Recommended schedule to maximize earnings: 12 days out / 2 days home

Compensation

Top Earnings

• Top 20% of Ellenwood Terminal OTR drivers average $1,600 per week
• Pay is based on experience
• Drive to Thrive Bonus: Earn up to an additional 3 CPM based on safety, mileage, and productivity
• Bonus begins the first full month after hire

Additional Pay

• Detention: $12.50/hour after 2 hours, or higher where required by law
• Layover/Breakdown: $100/day, or higher where required by law

$7,500 Sign-On Bonus

• $5,000 at 6 months
• $2,500 at 12 months

Driver must be an active company driver on the applicable payout date.

Equipment

Drivers operate 2021 or newer Freightliner Cascadia and Kenworth tractors.

Driver Trainer Opportunity

Qualified drivers can increase their earnings by becoming a Driver Trainer.

Trainer Pay

• Guaranteed $250 per week while training
• Additional $0.05 CPM on all miles over 1,875 miles per week
• Up to $400 Safe Student Bonus per student upgrade
• Potential to earn $20,000+ additional annually

Trainer Requirements

• 1 year of OTR experience
• 30 days employed with U.S. Xpress
• Safe driving record
