Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Solution Architect to support the design and implementation of enterprise technology solutions for the
U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
The Solution Architect will translate business and mission requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions. This role will work closely with enterprise architecture, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps, and application teams to ensure solutions align with established architecture standards and DOJ technology requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the architecture and technical design of enterprise and mission-focused solutions.
- Translate functional, technical, security, and operational requirements into solution architectures.
- Develop solution architecture documents, technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps.
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend modernization, integration, and optimization strategies.
- Define application, integration, data, infrastructure, and security components of proposed solutions.
- Ensure interoperability across applications, platforms, data sources, and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Data Architects, DevOps engineers, systems administrators, cybersecurity teams, developers, and stakeholders.
- Conduct technical evaluations of proposed technologies, products, platforms, and architectural approaches.
- Establish and promote reusable architecture patterns, standards, and best practices.
- Participate in architecture governance and technical design reviews.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, constraints, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure architecture decisions consider security, privacy, performance, availability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Support implementation teams throughout the software and systems development lifecycle.
- Ensure technical solutions comply with applicable DOJ IT and cybersecurity policies and standards.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems architecture, enterprise architecture, or related technical disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience designing complex enterprise technology solutions.
- Strong understanding of application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security architecture.
- Experience developing architecture documentation and technical design artifacts.
- Experience integrating multiple enterprise systems and technology platforms.
- Strong understanding of modern infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, and DevOps concepts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government or DOJ environments.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and governance.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid technology environments.
- Experience with data integration and enterprise data architectures.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with Federal IT security and compliance requirements.
Clearance
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain the applicable federal Public Trust suitability determination.
Compensation:
The expected compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $200,000 annually. Compensation is determined in good faith and may vary based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, clearance level, labor category alignment, contract requirements, work location, internal equity, and business needs.
The posted range reflects the Sky's reasonable estimate at the time of posting and does not guarantee a specific salary or rate. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and applicable contractual and business considerations.
