Description:
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect with a strong background in embedded systems to lead the technical architecture of a large-scale enterprise engagement. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Embedded Linux, device architecture, ASP.NET Core microservices, containerized applications, and IoT communication protocols. This role requires ownership of end-to-end solution architecture, technical governance, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams and customer stakeholders.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end architecture for embedded device stabilization and optimization.
- Design solutions involving Embedded Linux (Yocto, kernel-level Linux, systemd) and hardware watchdog mechanisms.
- Lead architecture decisions for application modernization and dependency reduction (e.g., Java/ActiveMQ to ZeroMQ or D-Bus).
- Chair architecture review meetings and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Review and approve technical designs from Embedded, .NET, Cloud, and DevOps engineering teams.
- Collaborate with customer technical leadership and equipment development teams.
- Define scalable ASP.NET Core microservices and REST API architectures.
- Drive containerized service design and deployment strategies.
- Partner with Delivery Managers to manage technical risks, escalations, and critical program milestones.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple workstreams and mentor engineering teams.

Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in software architecture and embedded systems.
- Strong expertise in Embedded Linux, Yocto, and kernel-level development.
- Experience designing ASP.NET Core microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on knowledge of MQTT, ZeroMQ, D-Bus, and containerized application architectures.
- Experience leading cross-functional architecture reviews and enterprise technical governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience in life sciences, medical devices, or industrial embedded systems is a plus.
