Solutions Architect - Cryptocurrency - 3605620

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Solution Architect - Cryptocurrency position! This is a 6+ months contract and will be remote in United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the design and implementation of proprietary crypto coin infrastructure, including consensus mechanisms, tokenomics, and smart contract frameworks for the organization's expansion into digital assets
• Architect end-to-end solutions for blockchain network operations, including node infrastructure, validator networks, and cross-chain interoperability to ensure scalability and performance
• Design technical architecture for coin issuance, transaction processing, wallet management, and blockchain network management with focus on security, compliance, and regulatory standards (SEC, NYDFS, MiCA, FATF Travel Rule)
• Collaborate with engineering, product, compliance, and risk teams to integrate DeFi protocols, decentralized exchanges, and Web3 services while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles
• Implement advanced cryptographic protocols, key management solutions (HSMs, MPC), and security frameworks for all digital asset platforms
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions for crypto coin interoperability, partnering with stakeholders across business, technology, and risk functions
• Evaluate and recommend blockchain protocols (Ethereum, Hyperledger, Solana), cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure), and integration strategies for legacy financial systems and third-party services
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation including architecture diagrams, data flows, security protocols, reference architectures, and compliance audit reports
• Travel to Buffalo every 4-6 weeks (Sunday night through Thursday night typically) for on-site collaboration and stakeholder meetings

What You'll Need to Have:

• 5+ years of solution architecture or technical implementation experience with 2+ years specifically in blockchain, crypto coin, or fintech environments
• Deep expertise in blockchain platforms (Ethereum, Hyperledger, Solana) and smart contract development (Solidity, Rust), including hands-on experience with token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, custom)
• Strong stablecoin, blockchain, and crypto domain knowledge with proven ability to design scalable, compliant end-to-end solution architectures for digital asset infrastructure
• Experience with crypto custody solutions, wallet integrations, DeFi protocols, and secure asset onboarding/offboarding processes
• Solid understanding of global regulatory landscape (SEC, MiCA, NYDFS) and compliance tools (e.g., Chainalysis), with ability to implement security frameworks using cryptographic primitives and HSMs
• Demonstrated experience with cloud-native development (microservices, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure), API design (REST), and DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines
• Clear and effective communication skills with proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across business, technology, and risk teams
• Eastern or Central time zone location strongly preferred due to collaboration requirements

Pay Range: $70 - $80/hr
