The companies defining the future of AI are a small number of startups training, tuning, and operating models at scale. They are run by ambitious founders, who solve the hardest problems across a variety of different industries. They are moving fast, operating at the edge of what technology can do, and defining the possibilities of computing for years to come.

We are looking for technical builders who are passionate about helping startups at the frontier of AI to grow. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable in deep architectural conversations and advisory discussions. For someone who understands that for a startup, the right technical decision and the right business decision are rarely separate.

In this position, you will work directly with a portfolio of frontier AI startups, helping them architect, train, fine-tune, and deploy AI systems at scale. Your conversations will range from low-level discussions about chip types to high-level explorations of advanced prompt engineering.

Your work will extend beyond individual customer relationships. You will serve as a direct feedback channel to product teams, translating patterns you observe across your portfolio into concrete input on what should be built and improved. You will contribute to the broader technical community through written content and conference presentations, sharing knowledge at a scale that one-on-one work alone cannot reach.

Key job responsibilities

  • Advise a range of funded AI Startups to adopt the right architecture for them.
  • Support startups in architecting scalable, reliable, and secure solutions.
  • Support adoption of a broad range of AWS services to deliver business value and accelerate growth.
  • Support the evolution and roadmap of the AWS platform and services, connecting our engineering teams with our customers for feedback.
  • Establish and build technical relationships within the startup ecosystem, including accelerators, incubators, and VCs.
  • Develop startup specific technical content, such as blog posts, sample code, and solutions to assist customers solve technical problems and reduce time-to-market.

A day in the life

A day in the life of a Frontier AI Solutions Architect is rarely the same. Expect to have a variety of different types of technical conversations revolving around applied AI and infrastructure, meetings with VCs and incubators, and opportunities to build and present AI content and projects.

We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
