Description
Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Solution Architect - Infrastructure position! This is a 6 month contract-to-hire and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.
What You'll Be Doing:
Serve as the solution architecture extension for enterprise infrastructure, translating conceptual and logical designs into detailed physical architecture guidance for hybrid environments spanning Azure cloud and co-location data centers
Design and guide scalable, resilient infrastructure solutions that support dynamic workloads including AI and digital services, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards and hybrid cloud patterns
Partner with engineering teams throughout the full SDLCfrom design through productionproviding architecture oversight, implementation guidance, and ensuring adherence to standards for scalability, resilience, security, and operability
Drive the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including defining SLIs/SLOs, implementing observability patterns, infrastructure-as-code automation, and operational readiness frameworks
Collaborate with domain leadership and enterprise architects to understand business capabilities and translate them into comprehensive infrastructure solution designs that meet financial targets
Provide architecture guidance for hybrid infrastructure design including cloud/on-prem integration, connectivity strategies, workload placement, networking, platform integration, and cost optimization aligned with FinOps principles
Participate actively in Agile team ceremonies, working collaboratively with stakeholders to design, build, test, and deploy technology solutions
Evaluate and ensure compliance of delivered solutions against enterprise architecture standards, while contributing to the continuous improvement of those standards based on implementation insights
What You'll Need to Have:
5+ years of relevant infrastructure architecture experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 9+ years combined experience in higher education and/or infrastructure work
Proven expertise in hybrid infrastructure design, including Azure cloud platforms, on-premises environments, and integration patterns across distributed systems
Strong background in software/service engineering with experience across multiple programming languages and modern development practices
Demonstrated ability to architect for scalability, performance optimization, resilience, and reliability including high availability and disaster recovery patterns
Experience implementing or guiding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, observability frameworks, and infrastructure-as-code automation
Solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles, patterns, and the ability to evaluate multiple technical approaches and articulate tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders
Effective communication skills with the ability to work across various levels of the organization, from engineering teams to domain leadership, and present technical solutions clearly
Experience working in Agile environments and participating in collaborative solution design and delivery
