Our client is seeking a Security Solutions Architect to lead the design and review of secure architectures across customer-facing and enterprise platforms. This role will serve as a security architecture subject matter expert supporting software engineering and product teams throughout the full development lifecycle. The architect will translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure solutions while establishing architecture standards, reusable patterns, and implementation guidance. Responsibilities include reviewing application and cloud architectures, defining security controls, supporting threat modeling efforts, advising on identity and access management strategies, and ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, regulatory requirements, and security best practices. The ideal candidate combines a strong software engineering foundation with hands-on experience in application security, cloud security, API security, and solution architecture.
7+ years of experience in technology, software engineering, cybersecurity, architecture, or a related field
5+ years of hands-on software development, software engineering, or application delivery experience
3+ years of solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or security architecture experience
Strong background in application security, product security, cloud security, IAM, API security, cryptography, or related security disciplines
Experience designing end-to-end architectures for web, mobile, API, cloud, or enterprise platforms
Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, token/session security, and identity management concepts
Knowledge of cloud security principles including least privilege, encryption, secrets management, network segmentation, logging, monitoring, and secure CI/CD practices
Experience translating business requirements into secure architecture designs, security controls, and implementation guidance
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence engineering, architecture, product, and security stakeholders
Ability to work in a hybrid environment near Dallas, McLean, or Memphis
CISSP, CCSP, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, TOGAF, SABSA, or similar certifications
Experience with customer-facing digital platforms, ecommerce, payments, hospitality, travel, or financial services environments
Familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar regulatory frameworks
Experience building secure identity, payments, API, or cloud-native platforms at enterprise scale
Strong threat modeling and security architecture documentation experience
Ability to balance security, customer experience, scalability, and delivery timelines when making architecture decisions
Strong leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
