Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Solution Architect - Observability position! This is a 6 month contract-to-hire opportunity and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.
What You'll Be Doing
Architect and design comprehensive observability and telemetry solutions that translate enterprise conceptual and logical architectures into detailed physical design guidance for platforms and applications
Guide engineering teams in establishing end-to-end observability capabilities across Azure cloud and co-location environments, ensuring alignment with infrastructure, SRE, and telemetry standards
Design telemetry and instrumentation strategies including logs, metrics, traces, and event streams that provide consistent visibility into system health, performance, and business-critical workflows
Support the adoption of SRE-aligned practices by defining and operationalizing SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and monitoring strategies that support reliability and performance objectives
Collaborate with domain leadership, enterprise architects, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC to ensure solutions align with architecture standards, principles, and financial targets
Provide architecture guidance for AI and platform observability, including visibility into model usage, performance, and risk indicators
Partner with Agile teams in design, building, testing, and deployment of technology solutions, participating in team ceremonies and governance activities as required
Contribute to the research and evaluation of emerging technologies and trends, feeding implementation insights back into the continuous evolution of architecture standards
What You'll Need to Have
5+ years of relevant experience in solution architecture and software/service engineering and delivery, with strong focus on observability and telemetry design
Proven expertise with multiple programming languages and experience developing and integrating applications using software architecture principles and patterns
Deep understanding of observability architecture including telemetry design, instrumentation, monitoring platforms, and data correlation patterns for root cause analysis
Experience working in Azure cloud environments and familiarity with SRE practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and operational readiness frameworks
Strong ability to research, evaluate, and articulate multiple approaches to solving complex technical problems while working collaboratively across various stakeholders at different organizational levels
Experience working in Agile environments with demonstrated ability to translate business drivers into technical solution designs
Industry-recognized certifications in programming languages and/or cloud technologies preferred
