Build Technology Solutions That Solve Real Business Challenges

We're partnering with an established technology consulting organization that helps small and mid-sized businesses modernize their IT environments through managed services, cloud technologies and business applications.


We're seeking a Solutions Engineer who enjoys the technical side of sales—someone who can uncover client needs, architect practical solutions and develop compelling proposals that help organizations improve security, infrastructure and overall business performance.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise, client interaction and strategic thinking while working alongside sales, delivery and executive leadership.


What You'll Do

  • Lead the solution engineering process from initial discovery through proposal development.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand client business objectives, technical environments and operational challenges.
  • Design scalable managed services solutions including cloud, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity and business application offerings.
  • Develop solution architectures, implementation roadmaps, cost models and technical proposals.
  • Partner closely with Account Executives and delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially viable and aligned with client goals.
  • Serve as the technical leader throughout the pre-sales process, presenting recommendations and solution strategies to executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Develop reusable proposal templates, reference architectures, cost calculators and documentation that improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Help evolve the organization's managed services portfolio, including cloud, infrastructure, security, migrations and integration services.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, vendor solutions and industry trends to strengthen solution recommendations.
  • Evaluate proposal results and client feedback to continuously improve solution quality and proposal success.
  • Ensure a smooth transition from sales to implementation by working closely with delivery teams.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of service offerings, pricing strategies and delivery models that support long-term business growth.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of experience as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer or Senior Engineer supporting managed services.
  • Previous experience designing and architecting managed services solutions within an MSP environment.
  • Experience leading technical discovery sessions, gathering requirements and translating business needs into solution designs.
  • Strong understanding of managed IT services, cloud platforms, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Experience creating solution architectures, technical proposals, implementation plans and high-level cost estimates.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to develop pricing models, ROI discussions and value-based recommendations.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the executive presence to confidently lead technical discussions and influence purchasing decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with sales, delivery and technical teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Experience with recurring managed services offerings and service catalog development.
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM and business application ecosystems is a plus.
  • Strategic thinker who enjoys remaining hands-on while helping shape future service offerings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft, Azure, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), MCSE, CISSP or similar.
  • Experience designing highly available, scalable managed services environments.
  • Experience packaging managed services offerings and developing service catalogs.
  • Experience supporting mid-market organizations and recurring revenue business models.

Travel

  • Approximately 15% travel throughout North America for client meetings, onsite engagements and occasional team meetings.
