Job Title: Solvent Lab Technician | Reports to: Solvent Lab Manager | Location: Homestead, FL 33030 

 

The Solvent Lab Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the safe handling, preparation, and analysis of solvents, with a focus on ethanol and butane. This role involves ensuring compliance with safety protocols and assisting in laboratory operations. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Safely handle, store, and dispense cannabis products, solvents; including ethanol and butane. 

  • Following established safety procedures. 

  • Monitor and maintain solvent inventory levels and report any discrepancies. 

  • Prepare solvent samples for analysis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to laboratory protocols. 

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, such as distillation units or other equipment. 

  • Perform routine equipment calibration and maintenance tasks.  

  • Assist in quality control measures to ensure the integrity and purity of solvents. 

  • Follow strict safety protocols and adhere to environmental regulations when working with solvents. 

  • Report any safety incidents, near misses, or equipment malfunctions promptly.  

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of solvent handling, preparation, and test results. 

  • Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for laboratory procedures.  

  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, researchers, and scientists to support experiments and projects involving solvents. 

  • Communicate effectively within the team and assist with data collection and analysis. 

  • Other duties as assigned by management. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Prior experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably with solvents like ethanol and butane. 

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to solvent handling. 

  • Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance. 

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. 

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new laboratory techniques and procedures. 

 

Starting wage: $18.00 per hour. The Flowery offers benefits, paid time off accruals and paid holidays to all full-time employees.
