Sonographer
Associates Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration within one year of hire date
BLS certification required
Eligible for certification by the ARDMS, registration strongly preferred
Salary Range: $40.02-$72.04/hour
Key Responsibilities:
Examinations/Procedures
Performs routine ultrasound examinations as prescribed by a physician.
Reviews and evaluates requisitions for ultrasound imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
Follows QC/Data Integrity Workflow process.
Practices High Reliability Communication techniques.
Responds to the uniqueness and clinical condition of the patient.
Creates a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
Promotes a positive work environment in compliance with ETU.
Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.
Assists senior technologists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section.
Provides instruction on pediatric ultrasound procedures and techniques to residents, fellows, and students as requested.
Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and procedures.
Senior Sonographer
Registered by the ARDMS
Associated degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required
Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration.
BLS certification required
ARDMS pediatric certification preferred
3+ years of experience working as a Sonographer required
Salary Range: $40.02-$72.04/hour

Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Complies with ETU.
Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and procedures.
Takes an active role in research projects involving ultrasound.
