Description

Cardiovascular Sonographer
Springfield, VA

Pay From: $38 per hour

MUST:
1+ year of experience as a Cardiovascular Sonographer
Must have Current ARDMS certification
Must have active BLS certification
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

DUTIES:
The Cardiovascular Sonographer will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Responsible for performing all echocardiography and/or vascular procedures according to department protocols.
Greets patients and prepares them for testing.
Obtains, reviews, and brings together pertinent patient history, physician examination, and supporting clinical data to facilitate diagnostic results.
Performs diagnostic procedures by producing, assessing and evaluating ultrasound images and related data that are used by physicians to render a medical diagnosis following practice standards and practices.
Provides interpreting physicians with an oral or written summary of technical findings.
Prepares final report and routes report to appropriate physician.
Maintains echocardiography equipment, ordering preventative maintenance and repair as needed. Implements a quality assurance program in order to insure safe and effective equipment operation.
Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
Maintain current certification in CPR training.
Must communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians and patient. Maintain teamwork environment.
Assists the supervisor with the care and maintenance of equipment and reports malfunctions and repairs to the supervisor. Will arrange for repair and maintenance of imaging equipment when appropriate.
