Summary Under the supervision of the Director, Chairman, Manager, or Chief, the Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound imaging procedures and related techniques resulting in the interpretation by, or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Follows professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Education Graduate of, or within six months of graduation, a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Two year course in a patient care related allied health field prior to Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Education preferred.
