Job Summary and Qualifications

Position is specifically for Maternal-Fetal Medicine Sonographer.

*Minimum 1+ year of Sonographer experience highly preferred but willing to train the right candidate!

Individual performs diagnostic ultrasound and is able to assist and guide for invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS. Individual is familiar with the operation of the ultrasound equipment and is able to prepare the room with the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure. Positively reflects concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel supporting the mission, vision, and values of HCA HealthONE. Is able to provide care to his her assigned patients and assures a safe patient care environment. Maintains technical skills and is responsible for the use of equipment to minimize hazards and maximize patient safety. Additional duties include accurate patient charting, evaluating obstetrical history and presenting pertinent information and exam findings to the physician, and ensuring preservation of images in accordance with hospital policy.

What qualifications you will need:

Current ARDMS certification with Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) and Obstetrics (OB) certification. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

  • Nuchal Translucency Certification preferred
  • Fetal Echocardiography certification preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited medical ultrasound program
  • Five years or more of Obstetrical ultrasound experience or three years or more maternal fetal medicine ultrasound experience preferred
  • Familiar with the majority of obstetrical ultrasound procedures. High degree of manual, critical thinking skills, and dexterity skills necessary for operation of equipment and patient care. Ability to perform Doppler studies, First trimester scans, cervical length, detailed anatomy scans- Including a detailed assessment of the fetal heart, fetal growth and biophysical profiles As indicated and ordered by the physician.

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • (RDMS-OB/GYN) RDMS Obstetrics & Gynecology
  • Certificate
