Shift: typically, daylight 8-10 hour shifts with 3-11 rotation every 6 weeks

As a Sonographer, you will:

  • Perform Imaging Procedures: Conduct ultrasound procedures independently, using your judgment and initiative.
  • Assist with Invasive Procedures: Support physicians during invasive procedures, adhering to universal protocol standards.
  • Manage Exam Documentation: Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, networked for archiving and interpretation, and charges are accurately entered.
  • High-Level Disinfection: Handle disinfection of devices, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Communicate Effectively: Clearly explain procedures to patients, easing their fears and gaining their cooperation.
  • Patient Identification: Use two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol for accurate patient identification.
  • Review and Document Patient History: Assess physician orders, apply departmental protocols, and document patient history in electronic records.
  • Interact with Care Team: Collaborate with patients and co-workers, demonstrating care, respect, and teamwork.
  • Optimize Imaging Techniques: Utilize ultrasound instrumentation effectively to obtain high-quality images and data.

Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
