    Description

    Operates ultrasound equipment used to produce quality routine and fairly complex diagnostic scans to ensure optimal patient care.

    Requirements:Education

    • Must have successfully completed an allied health education program in Cardiac ultrasound. Accreditation required within six (6) months after hire.

    Experience

    • A minimum of one year of cardiac ultrasound experience in a hospital setting is preferred. All experience levels will be considered.

    Equivalent Education and/or Experience

    • A minimum of one year of cardiac ultrasound experience in a hospital clinical setting, OR
    • Successful completion of an allied health education program in Cardiac ultrasound. Accreditation required within six (6) months after hire.

    Certification/Registration/Licensure

    • Cardiac sonographers should be registered as a Sonographer by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with current active status at the time of hire or must obtain within 6 (six) months of employment.
    • Must have a current Healthcare Provider (BLS Level) CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:
    • American Heart Association
    • American Red Cross Rescuer
    • Military Training Network

    • Must be able to operate various types of ultrasound equipment used in performing procedures.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively.
    • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of both normal and abnormal anatomy.
    • Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
