Your future role at a glance:

Location: Sparta and Smithville, TN

Facility: Ascension Saint Thomas Highlands and Dekalb Hospitals

Schedule: Full-time | Night

How you'll make an impact in this role:
  • Diagnostic Examination: Manually maneuver transducers and adjust equipment to perform routine and complex imaging studies, ensuring the recognition of significant structures, pathologies, and artifacts.
  • Quality & Data Integrity: Ensure the prompt submission of high-quality images and accurate documentation to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient clinical history.
  • Safety & Compliance: Implement rigorous safety standards and quality control procedures while maintaining full compliance with all governing regulatory agencies.
  • Equipment Management: Monitor equipment functionality, reporting malfunctions to appropriate personnel and performing lock/tag-out procedures when necessary to ensure patient safety.
  • Operational Support: Assist in clinical procedures and maintain a clean, orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and patient dressing zones.
What minimum qualifications you'll need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Registered Radiologic Technologist specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Registered or board-eligible for one of following: Diagnostic Med. Sonography, Radiologic Technologist, Sonography, Radiologic Technologist, Vascular Sonography, Vascular Specialist, or Vascular Technologist obtained within 6 months of hire/ transfer.
    • Registered Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Registered Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Registered or board-eligible for one of following: Diagnostic Med. Sonography, Radiologic Technologist, Sonography, Radiologic Technologist, Vascular Sonography, Vascular Specialist, or Vascular Technologist obtained within 6 months of hire/ transfer.
    • Registered Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical certificate/degree required.
