Sort Machine Operator

Essential Function

Responsible for operation, set-up and preventative maintenance of automated sorting equipment. Ensures quality of product produced according to customer requirements. Complies with all EH&S policies and procedures. Performs work accurately and efficiently in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Manufacturing Instructions, TS/ISO Procedures and other relevant documents. Shows a commitment to Agrati Production Systems (APS), employee involvement, and continuous improvement.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

1. Operates and set-ups various automated sorting equipment.

2. Quality inspections, as well as quality inspection documentation, will be required.

3. Ensures shop floor housekeeping and 5S implementation is met.

4. Supports all EH&S and quality activities including ISO/IATF programs and procedures.

5. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (e.g. addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

6. Experience with micrometers and calipers is a plus; must be able to learn all measurement tools.

7. Ability to access work instructions and follow and understand written/verbal instructions in English

8. Able to maintain records, either written or computerized.

9. Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent.

Prefer experience with fastener sorting machines operation and set-up.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb and reach with hand and arms. The employee frequently is required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee occasionally required to walk, stoop or kneel.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 5-10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 11-25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 26-35 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
