Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Scrap Yard Hand / Scrap Sorter to support daily operations in a busy scrap and recycling yard in Tulsa, OK. This role is responsible for identifying, sorting, handling, and processing various scrap materials while helping maintain a safe, organized, and efficient yard environment.

The ideal Scrap Yard Hand / Scrap Sorter enjoys hands-on work, is comfortable working outdoors, and has a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Required Experience & Skills
Ability to perform physical labor throughout the workday
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Dependable attendance and strong work ethic REQUIRED
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Basic knowledge of scrap metals and materials preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sort and separate scrap materials including ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, copper, steel, and other recyclable materials
Identify materials using visual inspection, magnets, and basic tools
Assist with loading and unloading customer and company vehicles
Operate hand tools and yard equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
Communicate material quality concerns or safety issues to supervisors
Assist with general labor and yard duties as needed
Support daily production and shipping operations
Preferred Qualifications
Previous scrap yard, recycling, warehouse, or industrial experience
Experience identifying various metal types
Forklift or heavy equipment experience
Experience using magnets, torches, shears, or similar yard equipment
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials throughout the shift
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods
Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and moving materials
Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
