    Responsibilities Job Summary: As a Business Analyst II, you'll perform research work and prepare financial analysis to make essential corporate planning decisions. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Analytics: Uses advanced analytic skills and knowledge of multiple indirect categories to provide credible, action-oriented spending, cost, and supplier analyses and recommendations to management Builds and maintains category baselines and spend cubes; cleanses and classifies spend across ERP, P2P, and AP systems to expose addressable spend, tail spend, maverick buying, and off-contract leakage Develop should-cost, total-cost-of-ownership (TCO), and rate-card models to support RFx events, negotiations, and make-vs-buy decisions Quantifies, validates, and tracks savings (hard, soft, and cost avoidance) from award through realization in the P&L; reconciles claimed savings with Finance and budget owners Discovers and drives new ways of using information - supplier scorecards, price-index and commodity exposure tracking, demand management, and specification/consumption analysis - to impact business decisions and results Leads cross-functional special projects as necessary (category strategy refreshes, supplier consolidation, contract renewals, RFP bid analysis, systems/process improvements) Provides complex analysis and recommendations to Sourcing Managers, and internal business leaders on existing supplier agreements and new sourcing opportunities Supports contract lifecycle activities analyzes pricing schedules, escalators and indexation, rebates and tiered discounts, and supplier compliance to contracted rates Performs Business Analyst I duties The responsibilities and essential functions outlined above describe the general nature and level of work assigned to this position. Qualifications & Key Requirements: Work Experience: 3+ years of experience in business analysis; retail, procurement/sourcing, or corporate finance experience preferred Experience successfully working complex issues with senior management and external suppliers Experience applying retail accounting and finance principles to development of costing / should-cost / TCO / forecasting models Experience analyzing indirect categories - e.g. facilities & MRO, professional services, technology, marketing services, logistics, packaging, utilities - preferred Experience supporting RFx / e-sourcing events and supplier negotiations preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of retail accounting and finance principles, including budgeting, accruals, capital vs. expense treatment, and P&L impact of indirect spend Understanding of the sourcing lifecycle (category strategy, RFx, negotiation, award, contracting, supplier performance management) and procure-to-pay data flow Advanced influencing and interpersonal skills; able to hold a defensible, fact-based position with suppliers and internal stakeholders Advanced facilitation and project management skills Strong analytical skills, including spend classification, price/volume/mix and variance analysis, and external benchmarking Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills; able to translate data into a clear negotiation position or executive recommendation Intermediate PC skills - advanced Excel (modeling, pivots, lookups) required; SQL, Power BI/Tableau, and ERP / P2P / e-sourcing tools preferred Ability to handle confidential supplier pricing and contract terms with discretion Ability to effectively work at all levels of the organization, including with external supplier executives Ability to successfully communicate with and influence upper-level management Ability to produce work products that make an impact on management decisions and business results Ability to manage large-scale sourcing projects from conception through implementation and savings realization Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, change-oriented work environment Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little supervision Self-directed and motivated to independently accomplish results Education: A related degree (Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Economics, or Analytics) or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience Licenses/Certifications: CPSM, CPSD, CSCP, or Six Sigma certification preferred Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment Travel by car or plane with overnight stays Sit for extended periods Work extended hours The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
