Position: Sourcing Consultant 3
Location: Minneapolis, MN | Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12+ Months (Possible extension or conversion to FTE)

Job Overview:
In this contingent resource assignment, you will play a key role in consulting on and participating in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Sourcing. You will contribute to large-scale planning related to Sourcing deliverables, analyze challenges requiring in-depth evaluation, and collaborate with internal personnel to meet objectives. This role requires a solid understanding of sourcing policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Sourcing.
  • Contribute to large-scale planning related to Sourcing deliverables.
  • Review and analyze moderately complex Sourcing challenges requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and consult with others to meet Sourcing deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal personnel in Sourcing to achieve objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships of high risk or complexity.
  • Establish and implement cost reduction strategies to improve category effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • Customize legal contract language to anticipate technology, market, and business issues.
  • Control all aspects of negotiation and set negotiation strategies.
  • Support acquisitions, including negotiation reassignment on high-risk contracts.
  • Educate and act as a resource for Contract Analysts regarding risk issues and vendor disputes.
  • Partner with business units to issue and evaluate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and ensure successful implementation of agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with executive management, vendors, and third-party lessors or manufacturers.

1. Strong experience in contract interpretation, drafting, and negotiation
2. Financial analysis of pricing proposals
3. Ability to gather business requirements and recommend a sourcing strategy
4. Skill in reviewing proposed contract language, identifying risks, and recommending language or strategies to remediate those risks
5. Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel)

What is nice to have (but not required) skill, experience, education, or certification?
1. Experience with contracts for Software Licenses (on premise and vendor hosted)
2. Experience with contracts for AI (Artificial Intelligence)
3. Experience with negotiating pricing for renewals of software licenses


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Sourcing or Procurement experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Strong experience in contract interpretation, drafting, and negotiation.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis of pricing proposals.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and recommend sourcing strategies.
  • Skill in reviewing proposed contract language, identifying risks, and recommending strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with contracts for Software Licenses (on-premise and vendor-hosted).
  • Experience with contracts for Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Experience negotiating pricing for software license renewals.
  • JD and/or sourcing certification (helpful but not required).
  • Experience negotiating agreements on behalf of highly regulated entities (e.g., financial services, healthcare).

Pay Range: $50- $55/hr on W2

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by several factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
