We're looking for a Sourcing Manager who is equal parts strategist, negotiator, and leader.
This hybrid role in Frederick, CO will own sourcing initiatives, supplier relationships, product quoting, profitability improvement, and team development across our growing business. You'll work closely with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and leadership teams to ensure we have the right products, at the right cost, from the right suppliers—while driving margin growth and delivering exceptional customer value.
What You’ll Do
Drive Profitability & Business Performance
- Lead sourcing strategies that improve margins, reduce costs, and support overall business growth.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, supplier optimization, and product conversion initiatives.
- Analyze pricing, market trends, supplier costs, and competitive data to maximize profitability.
- Partner with Sales and Operations teams on customer quotes, bids, and strategic pricing opportunities.
- Support private label and import initiatives designed to enhance customer value and improve margins.
- Monitor and report on key sourcing and profitability metrics.
Build and Manage Vendor Relationships
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Lead supplier negotiations including pricing, rebates, payment terms, contracts, and promotional programs.
- Conduct vendor reviews focused on performance, service levels, quality, innovation, and cost.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers to support business objectives and customer requirements.
- Hold vendors accountable for quality, delivery performance, and compliance expectations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify new products, sourcing opportunities, and market trends.
Lead Sourcing, Quoting & Product Management Activities
- Manage sourcing projects from supplier identification through implementation.
- Support customer quotations, RFPs, and bid requests by securing competitive pricing and product solutions.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure product availability and inventory alignment.
- Review supplier proposals, product specifications, and market opportunities to recommend sourcing decisions.
- Utilize data and analytics to make informed purchasing and sourcing recommendations.
- Involved in the development and execution of category and product line strategies.
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
- Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the sourcing team.
- Establish clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
- Foster collaboration across Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Operations, and Accounting teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Support employee training, professional development, and succession planning.
- Lead special projects and strategic initiatives that support company objectives.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or category management experience.
- Experience within distribution, convenience store, foodservice, retail, or related industries is preferred.
- Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
- Strong experience negotiating supplier agreements, pricing, and contract terms.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and driving supplier performance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify opportunities.
- Experience supporting customer quotes, bids, and pricing initiatives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with Power BI strongly preferred.
- Experience with AS400 is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Colorado salary range: $110K-$140K per year based on experience, education and geographic location.
