Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and meal service.
  • Prepare high-quality meals while maintaining consistency, presentation, and portion standards.
  • Supervise, train, and support kitchen team members to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist with menu planning, recipe development, and daily production schedules.
  • Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and product rotation.
  • Minimize waste while ensuring proper food storage and inventory control.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Coordinate food preparation for catering, special events, and banquet functions as needed.
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef, Lead Cook, or comparable culinary leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
  • Experience supervising and developing kitchen staff.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and food cost control.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds or more and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to consent to a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be able to consent to a drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or formal culinary training.
  • ServSafe Certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience in corporate dining, healthcare, higher education, or high-volume food service.
  • Banquet, catering, or large-scale production cooking experience.
