Responsibilities:
- Assist the head chef in preparing and cooking meals
- Oversee and manage the kitchen staff in the absence of the head chef
- Ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Collaborate with the head chef to develop new menu items and specials
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, continuing development of staff and new training techniques.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a sous chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
