Position Summary:
As a VS&Co Food & Beverage Sous Chef, you will assist the Executive Chef with the day-to-day preparation, catering and menu planning. Your customer service, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and leadership will contribute to the overall success of catering and Café. Hours are Monday to Friday 630am to 3pm and overtime and events as needed
Job Responsibilities:
- High level of customer service.
- Maintain sanitation and food safety practices for designated area.
- Assist with catering requirements.
- Assist with as needed Café projects.
- Accountable for following established schedules for baking, cooking, sanitation, etc.
- Effectively communicates, with all VS&Co associates and other business partners.
- Ability to flex and demonstrate proficiency at all service stations.
- Oversees sanitation and food safety techniques for Café.
- ServSafe certified and follows guidelines.
- Responsible for inventory management and supply ordering.
- Collaborate with Executive Chef to develop daily menu, recipes, and weekly specials.
- Collaborate with peers and Café staff to coordinate caterings/events.
- Oversee specific areas such as Bakery, Entrée, etc.
- Prepares and delegates execution of Café and catering menu items.
- Assist with Café floor presence and oversee stations.
- Has oversight for all service stations, Ampersand and catering and can lead the team in the absence Exempt Leadership.
- Collaborates with Executive Chef on menu items and recipes.
- Develops and executes plans, remains agile and able to adapt to change.
- Ability to have crucial conversations.
- Coordinate, plan, and execute daily shift start meeting and daily shift updates and end of shift communications/transitions.
- Train, coach, and develop team through training and experiences.
- Schedule adjustment flexibility may be required based business need.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations and increase efficiency.

Minimum Salary: $21.00
Maximum Salary: $27.56
VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of previous culinary experience preferred.
- ServSafe Certified.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Self-motivated and team oriented.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Outlook.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Understanding of how to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Service/Culinary Arts or equivalent experience.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to lift 30lbs.
- Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts with breaks.
