SOX Consultant

About the Team:

The SOX Team plays a crucial role within Americas Finance, ensuring effective controls to minimize the risk of material misstatement in the firm's Financial Statements and compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act. Team members are required to be on-site two to three days a week, in line with HR remote work policies.

Summary:

This position supports the Americas Finance SOX Program, focusing on planning, coordination, control design, and maintenance. The role involves collaboration with Business Process Owners to update SOX Documentation and drive framework enhancements. Reporting to the SOX Lead, the candidate should have experience in Financial Services and be familiar with Audit guidelines, U.S. GAAP, and SOX requirements.

Core Responsibilities:

• Plan and coordinate the SOX program for various entities.
• Lead or participate in walkthroughs of key business processes.
• Prepare status reports on program progress.
• Evaluate control design for Entity and Business Process Level controls.
• Update and prepare SOX documents, ensuring compliance with guidelines.
• Identify and report deficiencies, assess remediation plans, and track completion.
• Handle correspondence requests from Financial Group.
• Assist EY with internal control testing for the annual FS audit.
• Participate in the assessment of SSAE 18 reports for vendor applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Audit background in Financial Services preferred.
• Experience in operational and financial audits or SOX testing.
• 4-6 years' experience, with at least 3 years in a large CPA firm or internal audit department of a large financial firm.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word; knowledge of Visio required.
• IT audit experience is a plus.
