Sigmatech is seeking a qualified Senior Spacecraft Vehicle Engineer to support Delta 9 with all engineering requirements to include training USSF engineering military personnel and support the unit's engineering and mission planning teams. This position will work at Schriever SFB.
The Senior Spacecraft Engineer is responsible for the following:
Train government operations engineers on Delta 9 satellites, ground systems and processes
Support decision briefings to Squadron leadership and provide visual aids utilizing modeling and simulation software (e.g. STK, ou etc...).
Attend planning meetings to provide technical expertise for mission planning efforts.
Provide pertinent supporting information, such as system limitations, system performance or maintenance considerations, during testing events in order to validate plans and results.
Support Delta 9 engineers and mission planners in tracking and documenting planned versus actual results to include satellite configuration, health and status of system, post-burn analysis validation and mission debriefs to military personnel prior to and following events.
Conduct technical anomaly resolution analysis during recovery and other urgent operations and advise Government Leadership on best course of action.
Participate in the anomaly resolution process by attending resolution meetings and providing technical analysis
Guide corrective and preventative actions for mission systems, identifying all out-of tolerance conditions or system malfunctions, aid in the resolution of all out-of-limit conditions, monitor and report configuration and or status changes to government engineers within 2 hours, and root cause analysis.
Assist government engineers in anomaly resolution activities, such as root cause analysis, system limitations, and track to closure.
Support Delta 9 engineers and mission planners with validating command plans for mission activities, system maintenance/recovery actions and system characterization.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics or related fields
Minimum of twelve (12) years related experience
An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required
Must have recent and relevant spacecraft vehicle engineering experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must have experience developing training programs and instructing engineering
Very strong interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management and cross-functional team leadership and coordination
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently across a range of complex projects
Desired Qualifications
Additional expertise in space related engineering or working with Space Force orbital warfare units
In compliance with Colorados Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $160,000 to $185,000; however, Sigmatech considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, experience, education/training, key skills, location and often contractual requirements.
