Working closely with cross-disciplinary teams, you will lead advanced structural analysis, design optimization, and testing initiatives to meet mission-specific requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform advanced structural analysis for spacecraft, including modeling, simulations, and verification of components under various loading conditions
    • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations using industry-standard software to evaluate stress, strain, thermal response, vibration modes, and structural fatigue of spacecraft, subsystems and components.
    • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize structural components for weight, strength, and cost.
    • Assess the structural integrity of spacecraft, identifying potential failure modes, and conducting risk assessments. Ensure compliance with spaceflight standards and mission requirements.
    • Analyze spacecraft performance during various mission phases and propose structural solutions to meet mission-specific requirements
    • Support the design and execution of structural testing programs. Interpret test data, correlate and update models as necessary.
    • Prepare detailed analysis reports, including simulation results, methodologies, and recommendations. Communicate technical findings to cross-functional teams and external stakeholders

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with a focus on structural mechanics.
    • 5-10 Years of experience in structural analysis and modeling, specifically in the space industry
    • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., NX, CATIA, SolidWorks) is a plus.
    • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry standards (e.g., NASA, SMC).
    • Proficiency in FEA tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus.
    • Extensive experience with spacecraft structural design and analysis, including materials used in space applications (e.g., composites, titanium, aluminum alloys).
    • Strong understanding of structural dynamics, stress analysis, and fatigue techniques.
    • Knowledge of spacecraft structural design requirements and environmental conditions (thermal, vibration, acoustic loads).
    • Successful demonstration of spacecraft designs that have met mission objectives.
    • Proven ability to thrive in collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Adaptability to fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and deadlines.
    • Passion for advancing the commercial space industry.
