Today

Quantum Space is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Spacecraft Program Scheduler to support integrated master schedule (IMS) development and maintenance across our spacecraft programs. The Scheduler will work closely with program managers, engineering leads, and business development teams to develop, baseline, and control program schedules for U.S. government and commercial customers.

Who We're Looking For

The Spacecraft Program Scheduler is the schedule owner for assigned programs and serves as the authoritative source for schedule status, critical path visibility, and schedule risk across the program. Working within a lean, fast-moving team, the Scheduler will build and maintain Microsoft Project-based Integrated Master Schedules that span the full program lifecycle — from program start and system requirements review (SRR) through preliminary design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR), assembly, integration and test (AIT), and launch campaign. The Scheduler will translate engineering and manufacturing inputs into a logical, resource-informed schedule that reflects the true plan of record.

On a day-to-day basis, the Scheduler attends team meetings, captures action items and schedule impacts, updates the IMS to reflect program progress, and flags emerging critical path risks to the Program Manager. The Scheduler prepares schedule status packages for internal leadership and customer reviews, including Monthly Progress Reviews (MPRs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs). When schedule variances occur, the Scheduler leads the development of recovery plans, conducts root cause analysis, and communicates impacts and corrective actions clearly to both internal and external stakeholders. The Scheduler will need to manage schedule integration across including coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to maintain sub-tier schedule visibility, tracking long-lead hardware deliveries, and ensuring launch site and range interface milestones are incorporated into the program schedule. The Scheduler will also support proposal teams by developing schedule basis of estimates (BOEs) and schedule risk assessments for new business pursuits.

This is a high-visibility role in a growing company at a critical phase of its development. The right candidate brings deep knowledge of space program scheduling requirements, a hands-on approach to Microsoft Project, and the communication skills to translate schedule data into clear, actionable information for engineers, executives, and government customers alike.

Where You'll Make an Impact

Schedule Development & Maintenance

  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) using Microsoft Project for multiple concurrent spacecraft programs,
  • Build and manage detailed Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)-linked schedules from proposal through program execution, including design, fabrication, assembly, integration, test (AIT), and launch campaign phases
  • Establish and maintain schedule baseline; control all baseline changes in accordance with Earned Value Management (EVM) requirement principles and guidelines and launch vehicle interface milestones into a single cohesive schedule

Customer Interface

  • Prepare and deliver schedule status reports, integrated program reviews (IPRs), and milestone briefings for customers
  • Support Monthly Progress Reviews (MPRs) and Program Management Reviews (PMRs) with schedule data, variance analysis, and recovery plans
  • Ensure schedule compliance with CDRL requirements and contract data deliverables
  • Interface with government program offices and contracting officers on schedule matters as required

Analysis & Risk Management

  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk analysis (SRA), and float trending to proactively identify schedule risks
  • Develop and track schedule recovery plans; support root cause analysis for schedule variances
  • Support Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and schedule surveillance activities
  • Assess and report schedule impacts from scope changes, technical issues, and resource constraints

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and test teams to gather inputs and validate schedule logic
  • Facilitate schedule integration across subcontractors and suppliers; maintain subcontract schedule visibility
  • Support proposal teams with schedule basis of estimate (BOE) development and schedule risk assessments
  • Participate in and support integrated product team (IPT) meetings

What It Takes

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, Systems Engineering, Project Management, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program scheduling for U.S. government space or defense programs
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Project, including resource loading, schedule baselining, and critical path analysis
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for complex, hardware-intensive programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present schedule status to senior leadership and government customers

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Experience with spacecraft AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Test) scheduling and launch campaign planning
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 in addition to Microsoft Project
  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience on EVMS-compliant programs; familiarity with ANSI/EIA-748
  • Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience on satellite programs for DoD, civ, commercial space customers
  • Experience with space companies in a high-growth environment

What You'll Get

  • Ownership: Support integrated master schedule (IMS) development and maintenance across our spacecraft programs.
  • Exposure: Work with program managers, engineering leads, and business development teams.
  • Growth: Opportunity to shape scheduling at a high-growth space company
  • Compensation: Competitive salary, equity, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, generous leave, FSA, 401(k) matching, and equity sharing.
  • Competitive salary: $120,000–$175,000+ depending on experience and location
