Pay is dependent on applicant''s relevant experience This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option Summary: Provides medical interpretation for patients, staff and guests who are non-English speaking, deaf, or hard of hearing, to help communication with healthcare professionals. Responsibilities: Acts as a conduit between patient and/or guest and healthcare professional for communication in the patient''s preferred language. Accurately interprets medical terminology, including but not limited to anatomy, prescriptions, and procedures. Complies with all privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating patient information. May translate written documentation. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Completion of medical interpretation competency test. Effective 6/1/2025, National certification as Certified Medical Interpreter (CMI) or Certified Healthcare Interpreter (CHI) for eligible languages within 2 years of hire or from the effective date, whichever is later. 2 years of medical interpretation.
