This position provides foreign language interpretation, written translation and assists in education for non-English speaking customers, students or participants of the organization. Challenges include accurately interpreting and communicating information in an unbiased, clear and concise manner with patients, families, healthcare staff and physicians.

Qualifications (Preferred)
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare processes.- Previous experience providing interpretation or translation services in a healthcare environment.- Completion of a recognized medical interpreter training program.- National medical interpreter certification is preferred.Specific qualifications may vary based on the department, patient population, and operational needs of the position.Working Conditions and Physical DemandsEmployees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.This position is primarily performed in a healthcare environment and may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the facility. The employee may occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 10 pounds.The position may require travel between patient care areas and exposure to the routine environmental conditions of a healthcare setting. Night-shift work, including weekends and holidays, may be required based on departmental needs.
