JOB TITLE: Spanish TutorLOCATION: St. Paul CampusPAY RATE: 16.50

JOB SUMMARY:

Tutoring sessions are expected to begin Wednesday, September 9th, 2026.

The primary responsibility of the Spanish Tutor is to provide academic support to students under the supervision of a faculty supervisor. Tutors offer both individual and group tutoring sessions focused on strengthening students understanding of Spanish language, grammar, translation, cultures, and course content. Tutors may also assist faculty with classroom-related support and instructional activities, as needed. In addition, tutors maintain a regular weekly schedule to provide tutoring assistance during designated walk-in hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide individualized tutoring support to students with varying levels of Spanish proficiency
  • Assist with handouts, writing, and speaking assignments
  • Reinforce grammar, vocabulary, translation, and reading comprehension skills
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate clearly and patiently with students during tutoring sessions
  • Assist students with homework assignments and exam preparation
  • Participate in tutor orientation and training sessions
  • Track and report the number of students, courses, and topics covered
  • Remain up-to-date on department information, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Available to work 4-6 hours per week
  • Solid understanding of Spanish
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated desire and ability to support student learning and academic success
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Self-motivated, responsible, organized, and attentive to detail
  • Reliable and able to complete responsibilities with minimal supervision
