Spec Product Recall

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Recall Specialist supports product recall activities by assisting customers, sales representatives, and divisional Quality Engineering personnel with product recall–related inquiries via phone and email, as well as coordinating the handling of recalled product returns. The role independently executes and coordinates assigned recall activities, including sub‑recall notifications, in accordance with internal procedures and applicable FDA regulations. The Recall Specialist also supports the Senior Recall Specialist in responding to FDA effectiveness checks and other regulatory inquiries.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain designated returned product areas to ensure timely and accurate processing of returned product.
• Issue return labels, RGA, credits and/or replacement products to support effective recall resolution.
• Review and respond to internal and external email inquiries related to product recalls within 24 hours of receipt
• Execute and coordinate assigned steps related to sub-recall notifications in accordance with internal procedures.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and organized records for each sub-recall to document compliance with established procedures
• Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to applicable federal regulations and internal requirements governing product-recalls.
• Work proactively and collaboratively with Quality Assurance team members and other divisional personnel to support recall execution.
• Collaborate with vendors to reconcile recalled product returns and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide directions to Quality Control Personnel to identify, segregate, and secure affected recalled products to ensure that they are not released for sale.

 

Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required; Associate’s degree preferred.

 

Minimum Requirements

·        Requires 1–3 years of relevant experience that includes customer service, documentation management, exposure to regulated processes, and operational recall responsibilities.

 

Knowledge / Skills/ Abilities

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally via phone and email with customers, vendors, and internal teams regarding product recall–related inquiries.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to accurately track returned products, issue documentation (e.g., return labels, RGAs, credits), and maintain complete recall records.
• Ability to follow written procedures and instructions and consistently comply with established recall, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to learn recall tracking or internal systems.
• Ability to work independently under general supervision while collaborating effectively with Quality, Operations, Sales, and other cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$21.75 - $31.50 Hourly

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
