COLSA is seeking incumbent candidates interested in continuing to support strategic Information Operations and Special Activities efforts supporting SOF mission requirements. Positions are located at MacDill AFB, FL and the National Capital Region (NCR). Current incumbents supporting SOCOM J39 efforts are highly encouraged to apply! This opportunity is contingent upon contract award with work anticipated to begin in late Fall 2026.

  • Support planning and execution of operational and strategic activities through development and coordination of plans, policies, briefings, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate staff actions across Theater SOF, National Mission Force, operational capabilities, and mission enablers.
  • Draft, edit, and staff SOF-related strategies, CONOPS, orders, white papers, briefings, and leadership materials.
  • Facilitate conferences, working groups, meetings, and mission planning events.
  • Maintain liaison relationships across USSOCOM, COCOMs, Military Services, Joint Staff, OSD, and interagency partners.
  • Support branch and sequel planning, After Action Reviews (AARs), and mission follow-up actions.
  • Track and assess SOF operations, activities, and investments (OAIs), including measures of effectiveness and performance.
  • Develop and maintain mission continuity resources and operational points of contact.

Required Qualifications

Positions may be filled at varying labor categories/levels based on candidate qualifications, experience, and program needs. Representative minimum qualifications may include:

  • Journeyman: Bachelor’s degree with 3–10 years of related experience
  • Senior: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of military/DoD experience producing orders, plans, annexes, and appendices in accordance with DoD joint planning guidance.
  • Minimum of 5 consecutive years of experience serving as a staff member at a COCOM, TSOC, JTF, Service Component, or Joint Staff organization within plans and/or operations functions.
  • Minimum of 3 consecutive years of experience in program or project management, including leadership of diverse, technical teams consisting of five or more personnel.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience developing briefings, presentations, and written products for senior leadership audiences, including GO/FO, SES, and Secretariat-level personnel across the DoD and other government agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal guidance or direction while maintaining a proactive, mission-focused approach.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate at a graduate level.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as required by mission needs.
  • Willingness to undergo and successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the highest ethical standards and delivery of exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior J39, SOF, or USSOCOM experience highly desired
  • Excellent understanding of the current geopolitical environment and U.S. SOF activities around the globe.
  • Master’s degree - Preferably in Military Arts and Science, Strategic Studies, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in SOF activities and synchronizing delivery of non-lethal effects into military operations.
