    Job Description
    Special Chemistry Department - MLS/MT/MLT JOB SUMMARY:

    The person in this position is a licensed MT/MLT responsible for day-to-day specimen processing, analysis, and results reporting. They perform standard duties and may consult Medical Technologist III when necessary.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Perform all duties of a Medical Technologist I independently.
    • Demonstrate clinical competency on standard procedures.
    • Receive and process specimens following department protocols.
    • Design and update procedures for efficient and accurate testing/reporting.
    • Assist in administrative functions such as ordering supplies and inventory management.
    • Adhere to laboratory safety precautions and procedures.
    • Produce, interpret, and report precise test results.
    • Identify and resolve issues affecting test performance or result reporting.
    • Communicate section information to supervisors or managers.
    • Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Support documentation and QA/QC programs.
    • Adhere to Corporate Compliance Program and policies.
    • Meet productivity expectations set by departmental guidelines.
    Work Schedule:

    Tuesday-Saturday: 9:00am-5:30pm

    EDUCATION & LICENSURE:
    • AS/BS degree in a relevant field (chemical, physical, biological, clinical lab science, or medical technology).
    • Valid ASCP or AMT certification required.
    • Maintain necessary continuing education for certification and licensure.
    EXPERIENCE:
    • Three or more years of related experience preferred.
