    Special Day Class Teacher

    Job Summary

    Under general direction of the Director of Student Support Services or site designee, the SDC Teacher provides instruction to students with exceptional needs and will plan, develop, and assist in the implementation of student individualized Educational Programs (IEP). The SDC Teacher will also implement and evaluate the instructional program and activities for individual students.

    Requirements

    • Special Day Class Teacher Mild-Moderate
    • A CA Education Specialist Instruction Credential Mild-Moderate
    • Mild-Moderate Teaching Credential required
    • CLAD certified and Autism Authorizations are required for position
    • Up to a maximum of 10 years credit for each previous experience working as a full-time Teacher
    • Verification required
    • Previous teaching experience preferred

Transcripts are not accepted in lieu of a credential or university letter. Additional or unnecessary attachments may lead to disqualification from the eligibility pool. Please attach the following required documents:

    • Credential Copy: CTC credential with a document number, expiration date, and name must be visible along with any required authorizations
    • Do NOT attach a certificate
    • Letter of Introduction: Addressed to Chad Hammitt - Deputy Superintendent
    • Letters of Recommendation: 3 letters - Must be dated within the last two years

    Complaint Process

    The Fullerton School District has a Uniform Complaint Process (UCP) to investigate and resolve complaints. The UCP policy and administrative regulation shall be posted in all District schools and offices, including staff lounges and student government meeting rooms.

    Complaint Timeline

    • The complaint review shall be completed within 60 calendar days from the date of receipt of the complaint unless the complainant agrees in writing to an extension of the timeline.
    • A complaint alleging retaliation or unlawful discrimination, such as discriminatory harassment, intimidation, or bullying, must be filed not later than six months from the date it occurred or six months from the date the complainant first obtained knowledge of the facts of the alleged unlawful discrimination.

    The Fullerton School District has zero tolerance for mistreatment or abuse and does not tolerate mistreatment or abuse of students in our programs. All FSD employees are Mandated Reporters and are required to report any reasonable suspicion or known abuse to the County of Orange Social Services Agency and to law enforcement. Any mistreatment or abuse by an employee or volunteer will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or volunteer service and cooperation with law enforcement. Selected applicants will be processed through DOJ, FBI, and NASDTEC, a clearing house that checks credential status in all 50 states.
