    What Your Day Will Look Like:

    The special education teacher at Common Threads provides academic instruction with emphasis on supporting our neurodivergent students. You will work in a collaborative environment that emphasizes a team approach working closely with Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Mental Health Therapists, and support staff to provide transdisciplinary interventions and/or supports. We also collaborate with district team members, parents/guardians, and outside agencies and service providers.

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree

    WI Lifetime Licensure in Special Education

    Knowledge/Experience of evidence-based practices and specific approaches for neurodivergent students

    Experience with IEPs

    Understanding of and experience with Universal Design for Learning

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to maintain stamina and adjust body positioning to support students in various settings and activities, including but not limited to standing, crouching, sitting for extended periods of time, supporting student safety, and use of various equipment, as directed by related service providers and supervisors.
    • Ability to move quickly when necessary to ensure student, staff, and own safety.
    • General computer use including typing and screen time.
