Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20-minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations.The Department of Special Education at Kutztown University invites applications for our temporary, adjunct pool. Identified undergraduate course sections could be day or evening. Responsibilities include teaching on-campus undergraduate special education courses and supervising student teachers during the school day. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, performance review and evaluation of faculty is based on effective teaching and fulfillment of professional responsibilities; continuing scholarly growth and professional development; and service. Minimum Qualifications Requirements for the position include a master's degree (or higher) in special education or a related field of study from an accredited university; at least three years of special education teaching experience in a K-12 setting; and evidence of knowledge and skill in working effectively with children with exceptionalities. Preferred Qualifications Preferred qualifications include a doctorate and at least one year of college-level teaching experience or equivalent. Experience in the supervision of pre-service teachers is also preferred. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be certified to be placed in our part-time adjunct faculty pool and will remain in the pool while the pool is active. As need arises, applicants in the pool will be considered and contacted for an interview.
