Special Education Aide

The School District of Fort Atkinson is accepting applications for a full-time Special Education Aide at Fort Atkinson High School.

Under the direction and supervision of the Special Education Teacher, the Special Education Aide duties include:

• Carry out instruction plans
• Implement individual goals, specially designed instruction and accommodations and modifications
• Assist in the implementation of accommodations in the school setting
• Complete a communication log if directed by the teacher
• Reinforce student behavioral interventions
• Implement written academic and/or behavioral plans
• Provide feedback related to student performance
• Supervise students on the playground and other designated areas
• Assist in the preparation and/or production of instructional materials
• Make spontaneous decisions when unanticipated situations arise
• Communicate student performance and progress to the special education teacher
• Assist with daily living skills and independent skills
• Take care of hygiene needs as necessary
• Support students in the swimming pool
• Assist students in a community setting
• Drive students in district vehicles
• Lift and/or transfer
