The Cedarburg School District seeks caring and dedicated individuals to perform the duties of Special Education Program Aide (paraprofessional) at Cedarburg High School for the 2026-27 school year.

The schedule is five days per week. The workday hours will be based on student needs, between 7:15 AM and 2:45 PM, with a half-hour, unpaid lunch break. This position is considered full-time and offers single benefits. It also allows the individual to get paid for additional coaching, advising, or event support opportunities outside of the school.

Interested candidates must be skilled at supporting/assisting students with disabilities so their physical, emotional, and instructional needs are met and their disabilities can be effectively accommodated within an inclusive learning environment.

Essential skills include the ability to build positive rapport with students; follow teacher-directed behavior management techniques; assist students in adaptive classes when necessary; communicate with teachers on individual student success or concerns; assist in meeting possible health needs of the students; assist in supervision of students during nonacademic activities such as lunch, field trips, and assemblies; and reinforce appropriate social and communication skills determined by the teacher. Applicants must be skilled at using diplomacy, friendliness, tact and firmness to help students reach the District''s high expectations.

Key responsibilities associated with the positions include but are not limited to: supervising, escorting, and monitoring students within the school and community environments, including the transportation of students in district vehicles as required by the IEP or educational program and assists classroom teachers in the development and implementation of instructional materials.

Ideal candidates have prior experience working with 14-21-year-old students whom may exhibit physical aggressiveness but respond well to structured de-escalation techniques administered by a team, including but not limited to CPI Non-Violent Crisis Prevention or Zone of Regulation. Ideal candidates are also individuals who are interested in coaching, advising, or event support opportunities outside of the school.
