The Cedarburg School District seeks a caring and dedicated individual to perform the duties of a Special Education Aide (Paraprofessional) at Parkview Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year.
The schedule is 5.5 paid hours per day, Monday through Friday - 9:00 AM-3:00 PM - hours can vary based on student needs. This position also includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
Interested candidates must be skilled at supporting/assisting students with disabilities so their physical, emotional and instructional needs are met and their disabilities can be effectively accommodated. Frequent bending & sitting on the floor is required as is the ability to lift students who need to be changed.
Essential skills include the ability to build positive rapport with students; follow teacher directed behavior management techniques; assist students in adaptive classes when necessary; communicate with teachers on individual student success or concerns; assist in meeting possible health needs of the students; assist in supervision of students during nonacademic activities such as lunch, field trips and assemblies; and reinforce appropriate social and communication skills determined by the teacher.
