SUMMARY OF OPPORTUNITY

IPS is seeking passionate Special Education Assistants committed to ensuring all students with disabilities receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our Special Education Assistants play a critical role in providing direct student support, implementing IEPs and accommodations, and collaborating with teachers, therapists, and school staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

ROLES

• Special Education Arches Assistant • Work one-on-one or with small groups of students in the ARCHES program • Support academic, behavioral, and life skills instruction under teacher guidance • Assist with IEP implementation and behavior intervention plans • Help students with self-care and independent living skills • Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High • 60 college credits OR passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Test • Experience in special education settings preferred

• Special Education Autism Assistant • Work in the IPS REACH ABA Program • Provide structured behavior support under ABA Applied Behavior Analysis principles • Collaborate with teachers, BCBAs, and RBTs • Assist students with communication strategies & sensory needs • Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High • 60 college credits OR passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Test • Experience working with students with autism preferred

• Special Education Emotional Disabilities ED Assistant • Support students with emotional and behavioral needs • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) • Assist with academic and social-emotional learning interventions • Participate in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training • Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High • 60 college credits OR passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Test • Experience in behavior management & trauma-informed care preferred

• Special Education Inclusion Assistant • Work inside general education classrooms to provide push-in support • Implement accommodations & modifications under teacher direction • Collaborate with teachers to foster inclusive learning environments • Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High • 60 college credits OR passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Test • Experience in inclusive education settings preferred

• Special Education Life Skills Assistant • Work with students in self-contained Life Skills programs • Support students in daily living, vocational, and social-emotional skills • Provide hands-on assistance with mobility & self-care tasks • Support community-based instruction experiences • Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High • Experience with students with significant disabilities preferred

• Special Education Assistant - Additional Adult Support • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with intensive needs • Help facilitate academic, behavioral, and social interventions • Assist students with mobility, sensory, or communication needs • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff • Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, High • 60 college credits OR passing score on the ParaPro Praxis Test • Experience with behavioral support & adaptive strategies preferred
