DeForest Area School District is located just ten miles northeast of Madison in Dane County. We offer outstanding facilities and a competitive salary and benefits package. This is a school year position working 7.25 hours per day on days when school is in session. The current location is Windsor Elementary serving grades K - 3.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide assistance to meet the social, academic, and personal needs of students with special needs. Special Education aides will work with students that present learning, cognitive, emotional and/or behavioral disabilities. Duties may include working one-on-one with students; assist with student testing and grading; supervise students in classrooms, libraries, lunchrooms, during recess, and on field trips; monitor student behavior and safety; data entry of student attendance and records into computer system; answer telephones; assist visitors and parents; distribute mail; maintain office/classroom supplies.
