Oak Street Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education CBAP Teacher to join our team on a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and supporting students with diverse needs. The Special Education CBAP Teacher will develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborate with staff, and engage with families to ensure the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Assess students' progress and adapt instructional methods and materials to meet their unique learning requirements.
Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities, utilizing effective teaching strategies and assistive technologies.
Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records of assessments, IEP goals, and interventions.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support at home.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations for student growth and development.
Stay current with best practices in special education and participate in professional development opportunities.
Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture that encourages student engagement and collaboration.
Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical guidelines related to special education services.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Valid state certification in Special Education (CBAP endorsement preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an elementary school setting.
Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff.
Proficiency in using technology and assistive devices to enhance learning.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of all students.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
