Special Education Classroom Assistanta

Job Overview:
InHealth Staffing is seeking dedicated Classroom Assistants to support K–12 students, including those with special needs and students on the autism spectrum, within the West Chester Area School District. This full-time contract position involves working one-on-one or in small groups to support academic achievement, social development, and student independence in a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with daily classroom activities to support participation and academic progress
• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and student-specific support strategies
• Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Support and redirect student behavior using goal-oriented strategies
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all school and district policies and procedures

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children, preferably in special education or school settings
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Paraprofessional certification or related educational background preferred
• RBT certification or completion of 40-hour RBT training is a plus
• Current clearances (Child Abuse, Criminal Background, and FBI Fingerprinting) issued within one year of the hire date
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to varying student and classroom needs

Requirements:

• Current PDE clearances issued within one year of the hire date
• Commitment to a full school-year schedule, Monday–Friday
• Reliable transportation to assigned work location
